Interestingly, Asimina triloba is in the Annonaceae family, most of which are tropical. We have 8 different species of annonaceae here. I know that many f the annonas have toxic properties in their seed. I had no idea there was a temperate annona!

Correct...and one should NOT eat pawpaw = Asimina triloba anything other than fruit flesh.
