Remember the PERMACULTURE approach to solving
problems? Don't waste too much energy talking about
what's wrong. Instead, "Find the solution in the
problem."

Problem: An extremely precious resource is in jeopardy
because a few humans acted on their baser instincts.

SOLUTION: Start our own Seed Savers' Exchange! And not
just in one central place, but EVERYWHERE. Start one
in your community; your neighborhood; your state; your
country. Swap seeds and info with other such
organizations. Build robustness through
decentralization and redundancy. Yeah, it's a big
task, but it needs to be done, who else can we rely
on?

cheers, and Permaculture Phorever!

The key to it is:

1) active participation, on a local and regional basis, as usual
2) communication - using the web, and US Mail to exchange seeds

From a previous post:

Next step would be to, of course use the Internet, establish
overlapping regional seedsavers distribution networks comprised of local
networks,
seedsheds or seed circles.

I am in the process of having installed an interactive integrated online
information and networking system
using a wiki, a blog and forums. You are welcome to use this resource if you
might find it useful.
I am open to adding extra sysops (admins) to manage their own areas of
interest.
Name is PermacultureWiki & it uses
MediaWiki, Wordpress blog and BBPress forums. Very robust, simple and relable
platforms.
