Silvio,
I think you hit the nail on the head; nature has given us the patterns
to read. Watershed and bioregional "natural" boundaries and the people
who live within those regions are the ones who should decide. These
patterns also fit into larger patterns as well but the smaller pattern
remains unique within the total construct. The various tribes must
collectively work cooperatively with one another on the larger
bioregional scale as well, to insure harmony with the natural world as
well as each other.
To me these are exciting and valuable insights and the details
need to continually be developed in parallel with the fall of the
existing unsustainable model that we find ourselves immersed in. It is
only a matter of time before the major shift to sanity occurs. I sense
is that it's much closer than we realize.
Thanks
Ken

Hi Ken,

Yes I do agree. However that involves a lot of "political muscles" and I
mean direct action, party politics.
Could we say that this is closer to what the "bioregionalists" say and
not "socialism" (As commonly defined) ?
Would Permaculture be a strategy to a kind of bioregional
politics..Maybe closer to the communist anarchism of Piotr Kropotkin ?

Silvio

themes that I've discovered when examining
socialism in context of the political garden is that although there are
many toxic weeds in the socialism patch, there are two flowers that I
like, and that I feel should be nurtured. They are:
1. That the people should control the use of our natural resources, not
the corporations or their special interests.
2. That the people should control the means of production, not the
corporations or their special interests.
I find these values completely congruent with the values of permaculture
and I would encourage everyone to feed them well.
