I'm not a hunter and we don't have deer in the middle of Silicon Valley, but
I wonder... is it legit to shoot the deer who come onto your property? I
know that mule deer tend to over-populate in California. Probably the food
value of the deer would be greater than the vegetables one is growning.
Our problem is snails and (in some areas) gophers. I think Brock Dolman
suggested eating gophers, and I know our snails are edible -- in fact
gourmet items.
Eating pests would seem to be a direct way to solve the problem.
