Wow! I am truly disheartened by what appears to be class warfare within the group. Rather than see to furthering better ways of living, we're arguing about whether or not making money is inherently evil...or whether charging for services/work/products is gouging. I live in KY, USA. I'd kill for one of those opportunities to study near me...even for the $1000...and I am currently unemployed (have been for months).
Then the argument further fractions everyone through prejudice by adding perceived cultural evils (anarchists, gringo-euros, etc.). The name-calling and folks being overly sensitive to humor...or even ideas isn't very productive either. Nobody needs a lecture from me....but are the writers REALLY sitting back and trying to understand each other before firing off?
Is it just me or does anyone else see this as really sad on this type of list? The overreaction to the writings of several folks on BOTH sides of this issue seems odd to me. Money is not inherently evil, and folks can do a lot of good with it. Living in a hut and sharing everything CAN also be honorable and not just slacking. Getting permaculture to people without money is a problem...but one folks have tried to solve in many cases. Additionally, there is a large group of folks who might be on the path...or at least receptive towards the information. Neither side will reach these people as long as folks go about damning everyone not fully agreeing with every thought they have. If we truly care about the planet as a whole, we'll concern ourselves with action and involvement, and leave the warring to history.
...sorry for the addition to the tedium...maybe I shouldn't be shocked...but I am.
"Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing."

...I'll probably go to hell for watching TV though....
