Chickens in the garden... big mistake except *before* planting and if you
don't mind your beds completely torn up. Even one escapee from the chicken
yard can wreck havoc in just minutes! They scratch like there's no tomorrrow
so not a bad idea tractor-wise. I found the tractor a very functional idea.
Helpful book : 'Chicken Tractor-the Gardener's Guide to Happy Hens and
Healthy Soil' by Andy Lee.
Also, don't have personal experience with guinea hens but have heard they
also are effective hopper eaters (independent foragers and pretty noisy, as
well).
