Bill:
A friend of mine in central Illinois has several Persian walnut trees at his
home. The ones where the soil thaws early sometimes do not have have a
crop of nuts. The one at the NE end of his home where the ground is frozen
to 3 ft. or so and more shaded usually has a crop because it is late to
get started and the late frosts do not get it.
Best regards,
Bill Freels
