Hello All,

General question on astringency...

Is loss of a fruit's astringency tied to seed maturity?

It would make sense to dissuade wildlife from eating the fruit prior to seed
maturity.

If astringency loss is tied to seed maturity, it would also make sense that
a hormone is responsible for this, and may be artificially induced.

Anybody know? Just a random thought.

Thanks,
Tom
