let me recommend a call to your power company.

national grid, the power distributor for several MA
regions had a pilot program to reduce power outages
by working on problem trees outside the narrow streearea.
they had had found the majority of their outages were caused
by trees falling from private property.

also get bids, for the removal, it could cost less than you suspect.
