Hello all,

This discussion of groundhogs (woodchucks etc) is interesting as we
have a recurring problem with them. It isn't so much the crops that they
eat, as they don't seem to eat enough to notice, but they do tremendous
damage to building foundations, etc. Our barn foundation is honeycombed with
their burrows, which lets water into the lower levels of the structure, and
causes frost damage later in the year. We have had firewood piles collapse
because of groundhogs burrowing under them.
I have found over the past 25 plus years, that if the groundhogs move
out, then the possums and skunks move in.
If I found anyone trapping these varmits elswhere and dropping them
off near us, I would do my best to have them arrested.
