Yes I had heard about the PH and forgot aboput it as our pH is normally 5.5
to 5.0.
We have really acid conditions here.
Very little calcium in the soil. It has all washed away by the acid..
I use mostly roundup because it degrades and kills most items.
My problem is waiting for it to take effect.
I use 2-4-D on the grass to get rid of Catsclaw and dandelion.
The 41% Roundup is the most cost effective at $110 for the 2 1/2 gal size for
general weed and
brush killing. I can kill a large tree by cutting the bark and putting
Roundup on the wounds. The
only thing that seems hard to kill is Salal and English Ivy. The waxy leaves
seem to shed it or
not absorb it.
There are a lot of sprays I was used to that I can't get anymore that worked
well.
I had a neighbor in CA who worked at Monsanto who would give me gals of stuff
they used in their
labs for experimenting that really did great things.
He gave me some Simazine once that really killed anything.
Also a lot of the good bug sprays have disappeared.
Some that are still used back east we can not get here either.
I would be interested in your list.
