Sorry, I wasn't clear. Years ago in the police academy they taught Advanced First Aid, then departments kept personnel current in training and certification. Now they teach and stay current in First Responder instead. The need for First Responder-type skills in the field is what drove the change.

First Responder is a good next step for SAR / MSAR folks who commonly stop at the basic First Aid level.
