I was an Red Cross Instructor Trainer for Advanced First Aid and am an
instructor for first responder-- there are significant differences in
content between the two. Much of advanced first aid dealt with very long
term care without support but in civilization (like a fallout shelter) while
first responder added CPR, oxygen, manufactured splints and cervical spine
injuries.

Yes, which is why law enforcement is now more likely to teach First Responder to officers instead of Advanced First Aid.
