I like you way of thinking !
Thanks, you have some great ideas too!
I agree, however I believe the motivational factors here are slightly different. MSAR has taken major strides over the last few years and is on the fast track towards serving as (volunteer) professionals. Have you ever wonder who is the best MSAR specialist in the Country, or what state has the most skilled and well balanced MSAR Team. Being driven to being the best in your profession could make a very popular and interesting event. Any team that completes an event of this type goes home a winner! Whether or not they end up being the high point team or not. Zzzzzzz.... Next on ESPN (r), "The MSAR Regionals"Some people live for competition and others have no desire.
About halfway my law enforcement career, events called the Police Games starting becoming popular. These events tested the overall skills of the best officers of various departments. About the same time the Fighter Fighter/EMT Games grew in popularity (I am not talking softball games). Both of these public service groups demonstrated their professional skills against their own peers, both physical and mental abilities were tested. Nowadays, many teams have local and regional sponsors to help pay for travel expenses. We could test for POD, Clue Awareness, Orienteering, First aide, Horse and Rider agility all in one course. Zzzzzz.... Next on ESPN (r), "The MSAR Nationals"Would this be a good idea for a major MSAR get together???
Like I has said, it is more of a daydream than something that would ever materialize, but it could happen.
Hey! We almost had out first frost of the season here two nights ago, plus we generally have a good 3 months worth of winter too! (Grin). True, a logistics for such as event would be a challenge.OF course like Tomi said we will have to find a centrally located spot , Preferably where there has already been snow flurries and the horses water buckets are already freezing, hmm let see, MINNESOTA COMES TO MIND FOR ME!
