I read somewhere that you either grow garlic or you grow weeds. Might have been too weedy.

We planted in the fall. It's been several years ago, so I don't remember too much about the varieties we tried. Music was one, but I don't remember the others. We really don't get extremely cold winters, or ground freezing here. The patch got weedy, but no worse than anything else gets around here. We grow beautiful onions and leeks, and I feel like garlic would work, it's just getting the right variety maybe, and possibly harvesting earlier than what I remember doing.
We can get some fairly high temperatures in April and May, and that may have been a factor as well.
