Reading about hog feeding in 1870 Kentucky, the gentleman says he was
feeding "................squashes, potatoes, pindars, corn etc.,.........."
so what is a pindar, not in any dictionary I have? next line he referrs to
six acres of pindars.

Peas. :)
Ground peas that spread out. Also good to mix in livestock hay.
I looked them up once before when I was looking at growing more in our pastures.
Think Monsanto owns the patent to them by now?
