But how would you lower them when plants are small and raise
them as the plants grow? (Maybe I'm missing something
here.) The shoplights hang from chains.

BTW, we don't use the dinky little useless chains that come
with the shoplights; we bought decent chain (and S-hooks)
at the hardware store.

This year, I have a real luxury: we bought two of these:

So on nice warm sunny days, most of my seedlings can be
outdoors - we can roll these out to the deck in the morning
and into the kitchen at night. They are really nice for the
money, especially since we bought them on sale at $30 each.
