Ants also "milk" aphids - take them out to eat plants, and bring them in at
night - I think they move them around.

You're right, Christina. Ants have been called the "First Farmers." I
read an article last year or so (maybe "Science News") about a species of
ants that cultivated a specific fungus on plant material in their burrows.
They harvest this as their main food source.

The article also mentioned that members of a colony who leave to start a
new colony take some of the fungus with them to start a new farm.
