One of the owners gave a presentation at the Great Plains Vegetable Growers Meeting last winter. I was especially interested to learn that the reason potato yields generally decline when we save our own seed year after year is due to virus infections spread by insects. Milk Ranch has set up a lab so that they can use tissue culture methods and get virus-free potatoes, thus enabling growers to get better yields. Janet Bachmann
