Hope everyone has been getting the rains we have got in the last few days.
Maybe there will be hope for cover crops and fall pasture and turning
new ground for next year....

Still very dry in the Midwest, no rain here for over 30 days.

We have a lot of damage to the drip tape every year so we just replace next year. I think I had to splice about 30 leaks this year.  Try to go through and find clamps and splices and then burn it all with the plastic before planting cover crops.  Sometimes the old man winter doesn't allow me to get it all done.  Great fall last year and had no problems getting the gardens ready for next spring, this year is yet to be seen.  As we clean up an area I plant winter rye in that area, we have been working at this since the first if September.  Winter rye can almost get to be a weed in the spring if you can't get it buried deep enough.  Had a lot of problems with it in some of our early crops this year, just kept coming back.
