In our area there is a "tradition" of running dogs at all hours of the night and the law supports dogs crossing your property if they are in pursuit of prey (mostly coyotes and an occasional fox).  I've been told that they gamble on their dogs and they have locator collars and use GPS and direction finding radios to keep track of them. The start time seems to depend on the time the dog owners reach a certain blood-alcohol level.

In the defense of these "sportsmen", I have never had a problem in the year I've owned the property and have been told that if any fences or livestock are damaged they will be replaced/paid for on the spot.

The point of this story is:
        If they are wearing an orange collar that could contain electronics, drive the collar to another location...next county maybe? before you bury the dog.
