Sorry, that's not true. Most consumers who strip ears, poke kernels and take
bites out of the ear (unbelievable!) leave those ears and pack up unmolested
ears. They don't wanna buy those ears! In all fairness, the customer should
buy those ears if they buy any. And, yes, sweet corn is not a high margin
crop. If each customer who buys a dozen strips one and leaves it behind,
most of that margin is stripped as well. Of course the grower has to do
something about it.
