Marie, We too have used woven wire tomato cages. Have you tried using
three narrow supports along the inside of the cages pounded in the ground?

Kathy, what exactly do you mean by narrow supports?
I liked the idea of using twine to tie back the vines - then just letting it all be compost when the season is over.
