Interesting thing - the hormworm. About five years ago I had an infestation
that was incredible and in an area where tomatoes had never been grown.
Plants were healthy and withstood the attack. I handpicked that year -
buckets full. No kidding.

In the following years I have had years with none at all. Usually there are
a few. I wasn't in the mood to deal with them two years ago and dusted with
Bt when I saw the first little ones. That was it for the year. Never saw
another one.

Here's one for you. I know some people who spray their tomato plants with a
sugar solution to attract ladybeetles. They claim that the LB's control the
hornworms. I tried it one year and didn't get any hornworms but never
repeated the experiment.
