I tried that.  I think Shetlands are just hardheaded.  The other problem we have had with the electric netting are deer.  They run through it in a heartbeat.  Once it's down . . . and we are over run with deer anymore.  Mom had the largest doe I've ever seen eating in her garden this winter.  It was also knocking her birdfeeders down and raiding them.  I have to keep my LGD's in with the sheep due to the neighbors so the deer KNOW where they are.

You have to fence train them right after shearing.  Then it works great.  If you dont they just run right through it.  Works great for goats and cows - though with cows you can usually just use a couple wires and they will stay in.
