I definitely think the plants in a pasture crave some amount of probably every element as well as the animals that graze them. At least animals are smart enough to graze deep tap rooted "weeds" or forages like chicory to find these minerals. According to the folks at International Ag labs it is possible to create "high brix" forage (as well as fruits and vegetables) with the correct amount of mineral fertilization. Supposedly animals that eat "high brix" forage produce the sweetest milk and meat, not to mention remain healthy... just common sense.

You mention mineralizing the soil. I've used some natural minerals and
we're getting spectacular growth on ground that supports nothing but rabbit
brush and sparse wildflowers. But I also combined alfalfa meal and aged
manure with the bone meal, greensand, molasses, and seaweed concentrate.
And let it all cook through the winter and snow. Somewhere in there is
something those plants crave.
