I had no idea carcasses would compost down so fast! There must be a lot of bacteria living it up in that process.

We have a whole freezer full of soup chickens (bad breed choice) so aren't really looking forward to a butchering session just for two. And no one we know is in the rooster market...so....

A lesson hard-learned - "heritage" breeds are only as good as the people breeding them. Same as any named breed though. We got Speckled Sussex and they turned out the opposite of everything we'd read about them. For these a-hole roosters, adding to our compost might be the most benefit we get from them.
