Well Joe, with 150 varieties, I have many favourite
eating grapes, however here goes:
New York Muscat- delicious, juicy eating but only
if you like Muscat- white/whitish red, seeded . In N.B. and/or N.S. they
are used by some wineries for ice wine. Opened a bottle of my wine
(not ice-wine) for a group of experienced winemakers- it got raves
Vanessa seedless, early, size not too big, I walk
around with a handful wolfing them down, also good to make pies/jam as they are
seedless
Kandiyohi, very hardy, nice clusters of refreshing
grapes, seeded, mid season.
IMO none of the above have any Labrusca
taste.
Joe B. is the Coronation expert. I have some
immature vines from Joe's cuttings.
Cheers
Bert
