As with most people opposed to gun rights you don't even know the law as it
currently stands. People are allowed to own fully automatic firearms - or
as you called them "machine guns" as per The National Firearms Act (26 USC
sec. 5801 et seq.) which is Title 2 of the 1968 Gun Control Act.

Machine gun ownership is highly regulated, of course. Or are you saying people either can or should own rocket propelled grenade launchers? How about tanks? How about mortars? How about nuclear weapons?

Obviously you, and 99% of people draw a line where they think some weapons are appropriate for the public and some or not.

And many people would agree with you. Some people would even go so far as
to say speech and decent are so dangerous that they should be kept from the
general populace too.

While words alone can not hurt you, a person can be subjected to slander, threats, harrassement, and intimidation, all of which are government regulation of speech.
