Removing the duty to retreat does nothing to eliminate the "reasonably
believes" portion of the laws. It doesn't get guns off the street,
it doesn't give you any more right to Just Blast Away, it doesn't loosen
concealed carry laws. It eliminates a single manner of second-guessing
a shooting after the fact. There's plenty of ways to convict a shooter
who made poor judgement without tossing "well, you COULD'VE run from
that... we think. It was only a subsonic round, what's your problem?
So, 10 more years for you!" into the mix.
