Well it's a funny thing b/c their online network status report says everything is clean and green, yet the tech support woman told me that this problem has been raging for five days, which is about the same time frame we've been having it. Shortly after I posted this the bandwidth ground to but a trickle - no page would load fully, and my email server timed out consistently. The only app that worked was IM. I'm writing this from UNC, drove all the way over to make sure I wasn't missing some important email message. I wasn't. If it isn't completely better in the morning I'm going to start calling Time Warner execs and raising hell.

Y'all have a good night.

After several frustrating days of molasses-like Internet connection, I called TWC/Roadrunner to find out what the problem was. Turns out there is a region-wide "slow browsing" issue that has been going on since 12/31/2003. Their engineers are still working on it.

Five days and they still haven't figured it out! Thinking about DSL again, especially since we don't watch the TV anymore.
