As I stated multiple times, my opinion is this:
Exclusionary licensing = BAD
Prohibitive/Protective licensing = OK
By this I mean, YES Microsoft abused their power in utilizing
exclusionary licensing.
However, I believe that they, like any other manufacture, should be able
to dictate what their product is and looks like when it hits the
consumer's hands.
I would factors such as cost prohibit a large percentage of dual-boot
sales in addition to exclusionary licensing schemes. The support costs
would probably double, in addition to the licensing fees for non-free
OS's and the fact that they would lose competitiveness on pricing. In
addition the ramp up would detract from time-to-market since
manufacturers are racing to streamline their operations including
support.

Chris, have you ever noticed that none of the major computer
manufacturers (Dell, Compaq, Gateway, etc) sell dual boot
machines...ever wonder why? Maybe it's because Microsoft forbids OEMs
from selling machines that dual boot any MS OS with any other non-MS OS.
Vendors aren't allowed to sell whatever the customer wants, they only
sell what MS wants them to have.
