I know this was intended as light-hearted banter, but it made me wonder...is ING for techies? Or does ING just include techies. Do visual designers who design for the Web consider themselves techies? I know some darned good ones that *I* wouldn't consider techies. Those that I know locally have come to past ING gatherings. I'm a borderline techie, but I'm not techie enough for real techies and there are folks that do what I do on the Web that wouldn't consider themselves techies.

And, of course, there's the issue that ING isn't just for Web folks, but also for Internet folks at large. There are those that think Web = Internet, but those people aren't welcome at ING :)

So this would mean that ING isn't for techies, but rather for...shall we coin a phrase...interneties, folks whose work helps build or maintain the Internet.

Come one! Come all! Interneties welcome! Be you white/black/yellow/other, male/female/other, blonde/brunette/redhed/other, *nix/nt/mac/other...!

Enough silliness from me, for today I must work.
