<<<<That's true, but there seems to be a viciousness in this that I never saw
directed at Bush or Clinton. The misrepresentations and outright lies about
Obama, and the venom with which they are repeated (even after being
disproven) are scary. I have doubts about Obama's policies, but some of his
critics are downright evil...I'd REALLY hate to see  them in power. "None of
the above" is looking like a better choice all the time.>>>>

I saw a lot of viciousness directed at Bush2, some that I thought were
outright lies repeated over and over also.  And the media?  They wouldn't
even call him President Bush,,, they called him Mr. Bush......... (following
up the disrespect thing....)

Wholeheartedly agree on "None of the Above" (except Ron Paul).

Wasn't "None of the Above" the main theme in an political satire movie?

I think what has happened it resentiment has been building on both sides,
Repubs and Dems for decades, and it has finally reached the boiling point on
BOTH sides.  That is what is making the situation so dangerous.

The "I'm sick and tired of it and I'm not going to take it anymore" phrase
certainly comes to mind. (Network)

While some have vehemently directed all their hatred of what is going on in
goverment at Presidents Bush and Bush2, in the past, and others have
vehemently directed all their hatred of what is going on in government at
Presidents Clinton and Obama........... I think there is a growing awareness
that it is both the Dems and Repubs Congress are out of control.  Both sides
are taxing and spending us not only to death, but beyond the grave.

The flames on the coals is that Congress and the media are openly mocking and
ignoring anyone who disagrees.

Scary indeed.  It is precisely for this reason that I pro-actively in 2005
started to make the transition to selling the small farm property in
Homestead, and moving as far away from cities as possible.

Most people are totally in favor of free speech... As long as that speech
fits their worldview.??

If it doesn't, many will do anything in their power to shut you up. I am a
firm advocate of free speech. I defend everybody's right to speak their mind
and conscience, and most vehemently defend it even when their ideas disagree
with mine. In fact, Especially when it disagrees with mine.

If you are an advocate of the first amendment, it can be no other way.? My
sadness comes when someone advocates and defends one right guaranteed in the
Bill of Rights, and ignores, or fights against another, such as #2 (the right
to? bear arms). They were all part of the package deal, and are ALL vital to
our freedom. In fact, if the 2nd amendment was interpreted as liberally as
the 1st, we would all be required to own weapons, have them in every room in
our house, and cars, and they would all be fully automatic machine guns and
howitzers.

So, speak away, Lynn. We often disagree, but I enjoy the diversity.

Ray
