Yes, in my travels this year I found it amazing that most of the toll roads
were in much worse shape than the public roads and highways. After the first
one (PA turnpike), I also started avoiding them. Some were no worse, but
certainly no better, and no reason to pay extra to use them.

We have private toll roads here in the U.S. and they are the very worst
roads in the nation!  When we were hauling and showing horses, I had maps
that showed how to avoid them.  I really can't see paying to drive on a road
that would come near to ruining the shocks on my truck!
