I wouldn't worry about the corrosion. That is a long term use problem. I'd worry more about the injectors, assuming that the vehicles are fuel injected.

The water in the ethenol could probably be addressed by adding one can of water remover for gas engines to each tank of gas right from the get go.

The problem is, at least with carburetors (I refuse to have fuel injected and computerized junk in my vehicles <g>) is that the jets are need to be bigger. I would image you would run into the same problems, some what with the size of the injectors. With the E10, there isn't enough ethanol to make much of a difference, or at least not enough for the average driver to notice.

Also, the ethanol doesn't atomize as well as fossil fuel, which is why you really need the changes for it to work well in a non-flex fuel vehicle. Plus, it is a bit of a problem in the winter.

I know in carbs, you can have a summer carb and a winter carb and switch them out and use the E85 in the summer and go back to fossil fuel in the winter. Of course, that doesn't help you a bit when you have fuel injectors.

I also wouldn't want to add too much ethanol because the more ethanol you add, the poorer fuel performance you get in your vehicle. At least from the corn stuff. You're talking upwards to 30% less MPGs.

But without a convertor, limited use time, how much do you think?
