I don't think so. I'm really not good with mechanical things. I'm lucky I can open the hood and figure out where to put the fluids...that's the extent of my car knowledge. This isn't even my car. It belongs to my mother

Ron says that if you short the battery, the main fuse *could*
blow. That could cascade into further problems...He says he can tell
you how to make a test light using a parking light or turn signal bulb.
He is star partying tonight, but if you want to try his way, let me
know..

I'm not real mechanical, but when something won't start and I want to
see if power is getting to the starter here is what I do:

Find the starter. There will be two wires going to it and connecting
somehow. A clip, bolt.

Turn on the key to power it.

Take a screw driver with a plastic or rubber handle and touch it
between the two electrical connections to see if you get spark.

At least this tells you if the starter is getting current.

"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will
not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius
will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the
world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone
are omnipotent. The slogan 'press on' has solved and always will solve
the problems of the human race"
