I figure sharing this might help some other poor soul when they go looking.

Oven could be a bit iffy, depending on how it cleans up. Likely the thermometer in the door doesn't work/work well (they have another inside) but those can often be replaced, I did one once and I think it was $20. In any case if they've just been using it for heat the oven heat path is likely to be totally clogged up with soot, take a soot cleaner along if you have one, so you can clean it out and then throw the damper to be sure it heats. A really bright flashlight will show up many cracks, used from inside out. And take plenty of wood along to cushion its trip home, nothing more sickening that holding two pieces of cast iron that used to be one (I just replaced a broken stove part, can you tell?).
In case it just needs a part somewhere, take with you the phone number from http://bryantstove.com/parts.html , if you don't already have a parts place. These guys have been in the business for a long time and do a lot of stoves every year, seem to have access to about as many parts as anybody. Then you'll know whether or not the part is available and about how much it would be, doesn't mean you have to get it from them, but at least you'd have an idea. What you don't want to do is pay for it, get it home, and then find out something will have to be cast new ($$$, I've been there, too).
SJ, where it's 4*, the wind is 45mph, 6" new snow and still coming in sideways, so glad for woodstoves
