It in fact matters a lot. Saving seeds is some degree of effort and I would
not waste a minute of that effort trying to save hybrid seeds. The chances
of
good results are almost nil.
And Bev has covered the most important part. OP plants will adapt in a few
generations to your particular conditions, hybrids can't.
Another thing is that almost all modern hybrids were developed with Monstanto
and Dow Chemical in mind. They were not hybridized for organic gardeners and
the results show it.
