Bob; maybe you need to move away from UNHEALTHY red meat. Meat that is pasture-raised without growth hormones, etc. is high in CLA and Omega-3s. Had to get that little advertisement in. :-)

If you don't mind; are you complete vegetarian? do you eat fish? or cheese?. I really need to move away from red meat. Most vegetarian foods (except for fresh produce) don't taste good, in my experience ......bobford

We use the bulb in many recipes from different vegetarian
cookbooks and like it. There are some butterflies whose
larvae use it as a host plant, so we don't have much
luck
growing it for seed. It's mostly grown for the
butterflies
around here.
I use the seed more as a medicinal herb than I do a
cooking spice. I put them in a tea ball and steep in hot
water to make a tea, which I then cool and use by
eyedroppers full in my and my pets eyes. It will clear up
itchy red eyes and eye infections. If you have tried the
oily opthalmalic ointments prescribed by doctors and
thought they were gross, and couldn't wear contact
lenses
because of them, then this herbal medicine is for you. It
stings slightly, but then brings great relief. Eye
infection is usually gone the next day.
