Ray,

I have some friends who gave up on the Mormon Church because they were told
"it doesn't matter whether it makes sense to you this is what you are to
believe" I don't know how prevalent that is. Is there room for individual
interpretations?

I was brought up in a tradition that there is no individual who can tell
another what is right or wrong. Which of course makes it logical to assume
that my opionion is only that, and I have no right to tell other people what
is right. From that I conclude that in moral social issues we should only
ban those things which are proven to harm other people.
