LOL, I have a cheap guitar, I can tune it, I know a few chords, but I
wouldn't say that I can play it....lol
Guitars are cool because they are easily portable, don't require
electricity, and people who play them are always the life of the party,
THE entertainment. Music like that pulls people out of themselves,
which is something I always need..and like you say, it creates
community. There is nothing better than someone playing a guitar by the
campfire. Maybe that is the Girl Scout in me emerging, but I have
always loved that! Kum Ba Ya, speaking of Seeger! I know it is a
religious song and I'm not religious, but I do love the comforting
warmth that song brings on a cold night by a campfire, like I said, I
was a girl scout, so there ya go. But people who can play requested
songs have always amazed me. We have such a friend, in fact, he just
started a blog..

Scott is an awesome musician, I try to stump him with song requests, but
I have yet to do so.
I think it is very cool of your husband to involve the community the way
he does. For both him and Ray, keep up the good work. As a math
science kid in school, I never paid much attention to the fine arts or
arts in general. Now, I find I have this huge hole that needs to be
filled, not only with art and music, but also with history. It is all
so very important.

Bev, who hopes this music/guitar thread might lure Lee out of hiding.
Y'all do know that our list owner is a famous guitar player in a rock
band, don't you?

I teach guitar and music theory to private students once a week. It was nice to discover Lynda and you, Bev, also play. I bet there's a lot of talented musicians on this list. It's a very handy way to entertain yourself and others in a rural setting and is a great way to create community.
