I got rid of the microwave in the old house, but when we bought this house, it was built in and I didn't think it was worth destroying the cabinetry to get it out. I use it to heat up coffee in it's mug. That's pretty much it, and when I weigh it out against warming it up on my gas hob, and then tidying up the pot, I'm buggered to know which is more wasteful. I can't wait to have a wood stove in my kitchen, all winter long I can just leave the pot on it.

Er, packing? ; )

Actually, I've been making good head way getting things washed and cleaned and organized. Tossing and recycling. I haven't packed the first dang thing, though. Moving the girls and me is easy. I am a purger. Roy, on the other hand, is a collector and moving his stuff is more complicated. I have this feeling that long about the first week of September (when I have moved the girls so they can start school) he's going to figure out he's not getting fed regularly and trail up behind me. ; p

Closing was delayed because the septic failed and they were obligated to convey with it working, so.....you know how that goes.

We got rid of our microwave several years ago. We have an old air popper,
it's so old and defunct it turns on and off by plugging it in or unplugging.
Anyway, we are regular popcorn consumers as well. More so in fall & winter
when our typical Sunday night meal is tomato soup, carrot sticks and lots
and lots of popcorn--or sometimes just popcorn. We use butter, garlic salt
and parmesan cheese. I have friends that swear by nutritional yeast.
Everyone has a popcorn preference.

By the way, how's the packing coming along? When is the closing?
