What is this about with freezers. ?

When your back no longer likes to bend over to garden at ground level you may consider seriously raised gardening beds, well above the norm. Old chest freezers sitting on the ground and filled with appropriate materials work well as raised gardening beds. Remove the lids, drill some drain holes and you are in business. Upright freezers and refrigerators would also work but would be lower.

With hardware cloth on the inside of the drain holes, moles are history. Armadillos can't climb. Heck, even squirrels might be deterred.
