Here in mid-Ozarks we have brown recluse spiders too numerous to tally. Mostly they and I get along fine. The Taj Mahen egg fetch is done through an outside hinged opening. One must look for the bitty fellers before one puts one's hands in there. I suspect they feed on mites. When their numbers begin to unnerve me I kill them.

It is not impossible that this spider that bit me is a brown recluse. Research disclosed that they sometimes do live outside, in protected spots, and do build irregular webs, all of which fits this guy and his place and even size. The problem with ID is I squished one side of him when pushing a jar up to catch him and of course the legs retract upon death, at least this one did.

I will have someone monitor what the wound site looks like from time to time.

So far, no secondary conditions.
