Bush deserves his lack of credulity. He caused it by his actions.

Not true. A very small group around Bush had all the intelligence. Even Powell was not fully informed, by design.

To anyone with at least half a brain it was obvious that the war was
prosecuted to keep Iraq from setting up its own non-dollar oil burse. The real cause
of the war was the people's unwillingness to accept the reality of the 'long
emergency' energy difficulties that were shortly to arrive around the corner.

On this we are agreed. I argued before the war and argue still that it was and is and will be about oil.
