Hi Warren, your post made me chuckle, as I got monkeygrass coming out of my ears, too!
I have a large island area in my front 'yard'. My island is larger than most folks city yards, lol, and it is about half surrounded with monkeygrass. It could circle the island three or four times if I would thin it, but frankly, it's so thick that a full grown copperhead could be in there! It's right next to the rock wall and I am simply afraid of all kinds of creepy things.
So I will also make the offer, except here it is a you dig it proposition..lol..

This site says it is good to Zone 5. Btw, if you do searches, it is
spelled liriope, full name liriope muscari.

We call it monkeygrass or bordergrass in these parts. Landscapers call it
liriope when they want to sell it to you. If they called it bordergrass
everyone would say "Hell no I'm not paying for that- there's a guy on the
internet giving it away free by the truckloads".

We're in Upstate SC, or Zone 7b. Once a vanload of horticulture students
from the University of Georgia showed up at my grandmothers house, having
been told by the locals about her liriope. With her permission they
descended on her beds enmasse and thinned them down to about 25% of what
they were, loading the plants in the van. They paid her the princely sum of
20 dollars if memory serves, which Grannie tucked away alongside her egg
money. She said she figured the liriope had filled back in by the time the
van got back to Athens.

Again- free to a good home.

Warren
