I've been thinking about Tvo. He died in 2005 on 3/15 (my journal entry of what Lee Flier said she learned from his daughter) or 3/16 as stated below. I found this obituary on a Madison, Wisconsin obituary site:

Godfrey, Richard Harvey > ROANOKE, VA.
- Richard Harvey Godfrey closed his logbook on Wednesday, March 16, 2005. He was born in Whitewater on Nov. 5, 1922, to Irwin Godfrey and Jessie Fish Godfrey. He grew up on a Wisconsin dairy farm and entered the U.S. Army Air Corps after high school at age 17. By age 18, he was an instructor in aircraft mechanics, hydraulics and electronics. He later entered pilot training and was assigned to the 127th Squadron 2nd Air Command Group as a captain, where he served until May 1945. He then transferred to the 305th Air Service Group where he served briefly as operations officer until his promotion to major and squadron commander on Nov. 1, 1945, at age 22. After World War II, he completed his undergraduate education and law school degrees at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He married Miriam Fansler on April 8, 1948, and together they had six children. He is survived by his former wife, Miriam; sons, Richard Lee (Elizabeth) Godfrey of Madison, Morgan (Terri) Godfrey of Minneapolis, Minn., and Graham (Sue) Godfrey of Stevens Point; daughters, Daramea Godfrey of Roanoke, Va., Laurie Godfrey of Philadelphia, Pa., and Michelle Godfrey of Madison; grandchildren, Claire Godfrey, McKenna Godfrey, Katie Godfrey, Tim Jones, Kevin Jones and Troy MacWoodard Vladyka of Check, Va.; and great-grandchildren, Ryan, Cora and Owen MacWoodard Vladyka. Also surviving are his sons of the heart, Baha Al-Amood and Shirley Kipps; and daughters of the heart, Sally Edelman and Karen Witcher. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Leukemia Society of North America, 2101 Executive Drive, Hampton, VA 23666. A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date in Wisconsin. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, March 19, 2005, at the SIMPSON FUNERAL HOME, 5160 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, Va., (540) 366-0707.
