That's being positive for you. I'm concerned about the next few+ years. What
will gas cost, if they can get it? I wonder if my kids will be able to
afford to drive to the beach several hours away for an annual trip.

I am referring to the economy. The economy has a much shorter horizon that some of the other problems and no matter what happens, more than likely we will pull out of it in at most a few years.

Peak oil and climate change on the other hand have much longer event horizons. Figure that every $10 increase in crude oil prices translate into $.25 at the pump. We could easily be looking at $100 oil in the next year of so, can your budget handle $4.50 oil? Mine cannot.

I can say with certainty that you will always be able to buy gasoline. We will not run out of oil, it will just get extremely expensive. If gasoline were $10 could you afford it? It may take a few years b ut that is where we are heading.
