Husband is not available at the moment.
I believe what he has is a Morton brand "re-saw"?
He takes cants of wood he buys from rejects at a nearby commercial
lumberyard and turns them into runners and top and bottom boards for
pallets for his customers.

I don't know if this saw can take a whole tree, but probably would do ok
with smaller stuff, but doesn't have de-barking capability.

How many hours does the saw/engine have on it?
What is the brand name of the engine?
How old is the battery?
Is the saw/engine for gasoline only?

Has it been housed indoors or outside?
The sunlight works on the belts.
You want to look at the adjustments to see if it will take pieces of wood
as wide, thick, long as you want to run.
The cants we buy are probably 8"x8" and they are reduced to 1x2, 2x4, and 4x4.
Take into account the kerf.

What kind of blade/band is being run? Do you have a reasonable source of
replacing them or repairing them (usually 1 or 2 sharpenings is it for us).

I'll try to ask him later today what more he would say.

Plan on safety glasses, gloves, masks to avoid breathing sawdust and ear
protection.
